Usage

These are wooden pipes.  Wooden pipes are pretty basic when it comes to burning and inhaling cannabis smoke.  They draw very easily, and will burn through some ground up cannabis flower quite quickly.  If you’re not careful, you might get a bigger, hotter hit than intended.  The first time you use it, draw slowly so that the weed doesn’t burn quickly, and so it has a chance to cool on its way to your mouth.

You may notice that the inside of the bowl is quite blackened. That’s because the bowl has been burnt with a hot piece of metal.  The intention was to burn off any natural oils and seal the bowl so you don’t breathe in wood smoke when you use the pipe.

Cleaning

To clean the pipe, wipe it gently with a gentle soap or dish detergent/water mixture.  Do not use any solvent-based cleaner such as alcohol (any kind), paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc.  Most of these will degrade the finish on the pipe.  To clean the airway, use a piece of wire.  For Classic and Spoon pipes a straight, stiff piece of wire (such as a straightened coat hanger) will work.  For pipes which have curved airways, such as Bent and Long pipes, a thick guitar string works well.  Insert it from the mouthpiece end and it should go straight through into the bottom of the pipe bowl.

Screen Replacement

The screen can be pried out with a fine sharp knife or a needle.  It can be rejuvenated by brushing it and flexing it back and forth to dislodge some of the residue.  Replacement screens can be purchased at cannabis outlets or head shops, typically about $1 for five screens.  If you’re going to buy new screens, measure the existing one to ensure you get the right size.  Most of our pipes use a 1" or 3/4” screen. If necessary, you can get a larger screen and cut it down to size with scissors or snips if you want to tweak the size.

If you have any issues at all with your pipe, please let me know and I'll do what I can to correct it. I’d also love to hear any feedback on the usability/functionality of the pipes, or if you have suggestions for improvement.
